What is the most resilient yarn?
I am knitting a belt and would like a yarn the stretches the least but I can't seem to find what type of yarn would be the most resilient. I plan on using a needle between the sizes of US 6-8, but am willing to make an exception if the yarn calls for one. Anyone have any recommendations or know of a manufacturer with such a product?
Definitely go with wool. You can make it larger and longer, and then felt it, which would make it extremely durable and stretch resistant. Even if you don't want to felt it, I would still go with wool yarn. Don't buy the yarn from a big box store, you will find a much better selection of quality yarns at your local independent knitting shop. They will also be able to guide you on the various qualities of each of their products. Remember that, within reason, the better your yarn, the better and more long lasting your final product will be.
Also, make your stitches tighter than you ususally would for something like a scarf, to the point where they are almost difficult to knit. A tighter knit will stretch less than a loose one.
