How do I execute the following knitting instruction?
The instruction in my pattern is as follows:
Next row: Purl, increasing (2,0,2) sts evenly placed.
I am a beginning knitter. I know how to purl and I know how to increase, but I do not know what the (2,0,2) is instructing me to do. Please help
Patterns are often for more than 1 size.
A pattern might say cast on 20(23,25,28) stitches.
This means you cast on 20 stitches for the first size,23 stitches for the second size,25 stitches for the third size or 28 stitches for the fourth size.
So your pattern is telling you to increase 2 sts OR 0 sts OR 2sts according to which size you are making.
