ribbing knitting
What does this mean in Knitting:- Rib 13, rib2tog, rib 3, rib2tog, 27 times, rib12. 140 sts.?

This is supposed to take me from 162 stitches to 140.
Hi, thank you so much for your replies, I think there is a typo in my pattern as there was no asterisk. I am making a waistcoat using Sirdar's simple easy knits which is a pattern book from the UK.
the third answer you got put the brackets in the right place but the minimum no of sts you will reduce by is 28sts - if you are supposed to end up with 140sts then you should have started with 168sts - suggest you make sure that you started off with the correct no of sts.
