sewing up knitting seams
serger needles breaks with knits!!!!?
i have a new SINGER overlocker , fed up with thick ballpoint needles that break evrytime i sew something that is more thick than 1 or 2 layers of light jersey (without any other seams in the middle)
Today they broke 2 times then I gave up overlocking 2 piecies of sweater...It's something I do wrong or my serger is not meant for medium/thick fabrics?!??
I just got done sewing thick tapestry drapes with my serger. Do use Schemtz needles. and yes don't pull your fabric. But this should not be happening. I assume it works good with one layer? There is no reason why two or layers of jersey would break a needle.
I would go back to the dealer and ask about it.
