Patriotic flag room for a child - disrespectful or not?
My 2 yr old is so into the USA flag. Loves the flag as much as Elmo. Since I sew & knit/crochet, I want to make a room in our house a patriotic flag-themed room. Since a lot of people visit our house (and some of them are military type), at what point does using images of the American flag become disrespectful? For example, I love the flag afghan you can make in this book - http://www.craftdesigns4you.com/shopimages/large/lgbkcroredwhiteblueafghans.jpg But is using the American Flag image as an afghan, curtain material, pillows, etc. (some of which will end up sat on, jumped on, and curled up on the floor) considered disrespectful?

i have a large collection and when I lived with my parents i had my bedroom walls covered with American Flags!!
Right now I live with my brother who isnt so keen on my flags, so i just have 2 on the wall, and i have a patriotic display on my bed rails and my clothes chest and windowsills
When i move in a month , i am getting a 7ft tall cardboard cutout of Lady Liberty and i am going to hang my flags up everywhere and display my other patriotic things- screw patriotic room... patriotic HOUSE more like!
I think its a great idea to do a patriotic room - and i dont think its disrespectful to put the flag on cushions and stuff...
He could have flag clothes, and flag bed linen! - i share my bed with some american flags every night- and i think its great
