Types of Carpet Repair

Put the tape on the under pad or surface area that the carpet is on ( for glue down carpets just adhere directly to the concrete or wood floor) and then use the glue gun to glue the new piece in place and try to place it correctly into the prepped area. Once you positioned it correctly, apply some pressure for the hot glue to stick to both surfaces (being careful as to not create glue seepage through the seams).

Your carpet repair is almost done. You just have to place some heavy objects to keep it flat for a few minutes until the glue cools down. Keeping the carpet flat will make it look more like the original carpet. After a couple of days, the carpet will start to blend in nicely especially if it is a traffic area where it is being walked on all the time.
