Knitting adult sized patchwork blanket?
I am knitting an adult sized patchwork blanket, this is my first big project that I have taken on since I began knitting. I learned how to a couple of years ago, and just recently picked up an interest in it again. I was wondering how many cast-on's I should do and how many rows to make one patch?

What I do is knit a pattern I like until I feel the patch is big enough and then bind off. I then measure the length and width of the square and calculate how large I want it to be, say 72x35 in. I then figure out how many squares it would take for the blanket to reach that size.
