joining knitting circular needles
knitting circular needles....?
how do i join in a second color while knitting with circular needles?
I do it the same way I would on straight needles. Then again, I don't join my new colors at the edge. I know some folks say one should never tie a knot when knitting, but I do it all the time. I cut my old yarn off, leaving a 6" minimum tail, and tie the new yarn onto the old one using a square knot. Tie it as close down to the work as you can, leaving at least a 6" tail of the new color. You'll weave these tails in later, so leave yourself enough to comfortably work with. I've never had my knots be noticeable, so I keep tying them.
