Great Treatment for Carpal Tunnel Pain
Millions of people have suffered from carpal tunnel pain for centuries. There are many treatments for this pain, but the majority of these treatments only provide temporary relief.
Carpal tunnel pain first starts with the fingers feeling stiff and swollen. Then the hand starts having a burning or itching sensation in the palm and feels tingly like it's "asleep" and needs to be shaken awake. As symptoms gradually worsen, sharp, shooting pains are felt in the wrist and travel up the arm. The pain can be so severe that it wakes the sufferer at night. A good night's sleep becomes a thing of the past. Simple daily tasks such as buttoning shirts or tying shoes become difficult to accomplish. The hand grip becomes weakened and prevents the sufferer from holding a cup or plate or writing with a pen or pencil. Hobbies become painful and frustrating instead of relaxing and enjoyable. Hands and wrists are continuously achey and sore.
The median nerve controls sensations and impulses to the muscles of the hand and is located in the carpal tunnel at the base of the hand. The carpal tunnel is a narrow "tunnel" of ligaments, bones, tendons, and nerves. Swollen tendons narrow the tunnel which squeezes or compresses the median nerve. This causes the carpal tunnel pain.
Most doctors prescribe expensive pain medication or lotions, steroid or cortisone shots, wrist braces or supports, acupuncture, expensive therapy, and even surgery. The truth is that this is money and time being wasted. Expensive pain killers, muscle relaxants, ibuprofen, and aspirin provide only temporary relief and can also cause stomach upset or other health issues if taken for a long period of time. Lotions applied to the hand and wrist may or may not provide temporary relief. Steroid and cortisone shots also just provide temporary relief. These shots actually thin and weaken the muscles and tissues. This results in other muscles and tendons working harder and possibly becoming injured. Wrist braces and supports limit the mobility of the wrist and actually increase stiffness and pain. Acupuncture has been used to relieve the pain. However, sticking needles in already swollen muscles does not help. Lengthy and expensive physical therapy, shockwave therapy, or EMG therapy are time consuming and unnecessary. As for surgery, 36% of sufferers still require more treatment after surgery. The scarring from surgery can actually cause worse pain than before the surgery.
It's been proven that simple exercises and stretching can relieve pain and strengthen muscles and tendons. Japanese sufferers in ancient Japan found that simple exercises reduced carpal tunnel pain. Buddhist monks brought these techniques to Japan centuries ago. All that is needed to decrease carpal tunnel pain are a few daily exercises that only take 5 to 15 minutes. The sufferer will feel a difference in the level of pain within 72 hours and be totally pain free in as little as 30 days.
These exercises and stretching techniques can be done in the privacy and comfort of the home. The sufferer does not have to leave the house, fight traffic, or spend precious time in doctor's offices. The exercises and stretching techniques are simple and easy to do. Easy to understand, illustrated exercises provide step by step instruction to be done two to three times a day for beginners and then move up to more advanced techniques. Continuing these exercises three times a week even after the elimination of carpal tunnel pain will prevent the pain from returning.
Hands and wrists will be free from pain and feel normal again. No more waking up in the middle of the night from agonizing pain and stiffness. A good night's sleep will be had nightly. Daily tasks of buttoning shirts, tying shoes, writing letters, and holding cups and plates can be done again without pain or difficulty. Hobbies will once again be enjoyable because crochet hooks or knitting needles can be easily grasped or flies can be easily tied for fishing. An increased range of motion and flexibility will also show positive results in productivity at home and work.
Instead of wasting time and money on unnecessary medicines, doctor visits, and accessories, a few minutes of simple, daily exercises can provide a lifetime of painfree activity.
