Is this the correct way to do a Knit Stitch?

I seen a video on this way, which is easier and another video where you rest the string on your index finger in your left hand and go under the string with the needle in your right hand. I just want to make sure this is the correct, most used way to do the knit stitch. Thanks

Every way is correct but I had a test with a friend. We used the same yarn and needle. She used the English method and I used the Continental. When she had finished the row we had agreed on, I had finished 1 1/2 rows. Use the method you feel most comfortable with but if you want to get your project done faster use the Continental
